Discovering Mind Power
Jan 2nd, 2010 by Dee Marie

Our minds are like magnets. What they think and envision, they eventually will attract. This is called the law of attraction and it is a powerful function of the mind. If you believe something strongly enough, according to the law of attraction, it will occur. This is real mind power! If you can think and feel and believe that you will have a great life, then you will. First you must imagine it and that takes practice. But with persistence in anything you do, you can achieve success. The mind is a remarkable thing.

The Law of Attraction works even if you don’t believe in it. Whether you choose to use your mind power positively or not is up to you; we only use 10% of our brain’s capacity for conscious thought, the rest is a well of untapped unconscious potential, and you’re using it now whether you admit to it or not ? and people who find fault in everything tend to use it to pull more trouble to them.

What happens in your life starts in your mind. What you have accomplished is a direct result of the power of your mind. You may have heard that every person has psychic ability or some type of extra sensory skills, but the truth is that is really advanced subconscious mind power. Basically, if you want something in your life then all you need to do to get it is think it. If you expect nothing but bad things then that is what you will get.

If you want to increase your mind power then there are some things that you can do. Visualization is one of those things. Visualization is a powerful technique that allows you to exercise your mind power. It can help you to gain more power, too.

You should start with writing down the things you picture in your mind. This will help these things into your subconscious mind so that you can begin to bring them to life. Your subconscious is a very powerful part of your mind. Make sure the images are positive so that you will only draw positive things to your life. Think about how you want your life to be before you start this process.

Goal setting is something anyone who’s ever had to use a day planner remembers. You write everything down that you want to get done and then you break it down into steps. Read the list every day, and focus on one item on the list and try to make it a reality. Do this ever

Affirmations are another technique that you can use to increase your mind power. An affirmation is a positive piece of encouragement that you give to yourself throughout the day. It can be about anything as long as it is positive. You can just tell yourself or say aloud whatever it is that you want. Use affirmations to switch yourself into thinking positively and positive things will start to happen. You will probably feel awkward at first, but keep it doing it for 28 days and it will become a habit.

Another thing that you can do to help develop more mind power is through brainwave entertainment. What this is, is synchronizing your brainwaves through audio technology. The brain naturally can do several things. One of those things is the ability to heal itself. Through brainwave entertainment you can enhance this ability. Other things that happen is enhanced memory and strengthening of natural psychic powers. This is rather advanced, but it really does work.

Another means of expanding your mind power is through hypnosis. It reduces tension and resistance allowing access to your subconscious mind. Many people have used hypnosis to quit smoking because it works. The process simply involves repeated sessions where the person sits quietly relaxing and listening to the hypnotist tell them over and over that they want to quit smoking, that they do not have the urge to smoke, they want to and can quit and they do. These people become convinced through their subconscious minds that they are able to quit smoking. They are convinced to believe in themselves when before they did not.

Everyone has mind power, even you. It is just a matter of believing in it and your mind’s ability. It is probably not going to happen overnight, but you can use it overtime to change your life and bring positivity and good luck into your life. It is simply about communicating to the universe what you want and pulling it to you. It all starts with the subconscious mind and knowing that your mind is very powerful.

Obstacles Of Yoga
Apr 19th, 2009 by Dee Marie

Anyone embarking on the journey of yoga will face a series of obstacles, difficulties and detours. You will need to remove all of the following difficulties, noticed by yoga practitioners for a long time, in order to be able to fully benefit from the positive aspects of yoga. Here is a quick look at the nine major obstacles:

1. Vyadhi – This obstacle refers to physical or mental illness. Practicing yoga si even more difficult when you are not in great health. A balanced, healthy life style ensures victory on this obstacle, by preventing any form of sickness. 2. Styana – The second major difficulty related to yoga refers to an advanced state of apathy, which interferes with you willingness to commit to your responsibilities. We neglect and avoid practice by procrastinating and this, in turn, leads to coming up with excuses for not doing our work.
3. Sanshaya – One other major interference in the practice of yoga is related to the issue of doubting the benefits of practicing it. This problem also arises when faith in your own capabilities is low. This leads to a deviation from the original goals, making you more susceptible to outside interference.
4. Pramada – When lack of persistence and will is notices, the 4th yoga obstacle comes in place. Yoga requires a unique approach, as it is a combination of arts and sciences. If you practice yoga without the proper emotional and mental states, you may turn its positive aspects into negative ones.
5. Alasya – A lazy and inert state of mind and body will prevent you from receiving yoga’s full benefits. Most people have a hard time dealing with their own will power, creating the perfect conditions for this obstacle to appear. The road to success is hard most of the times and a strong will power can support your ascent. A passive approach, on the other hand, will almost certainly lead to a slow and ineffective advance.
6. Avirati – Physical objects hold a magnetic attraction to the majority of people. Yoga needs you to let go of these ropes that tie you to the material world and make progress in the realm of the spirit. Removing the weight of physical things is vital while practicing yoga.
7. Bhrantidarshan – Misunderstanding the path you are taking while practicing yoga can lead to disappointment. Avoid this by keeping your hopes in good contact with reality.
8. Alabdha-bhumikatva – We are often victims of our own discouragement. When a failure occurs we fall into a state of self-depreciation and low optimism levels. Failing to reach a step on your road to achieving your ideal can lead to aggravated forms of this obstacle.
9. Anawasthitatwa – Poor yoga practice may also lead to the incapability to reach and hold a higher level of consciousness. This can be frustrating and result in disappointment.

Overcoming these obstacles is possible by helping your mind to focus on single elements a one time. Do not allow any of these obstacles to increase in power, as the others will soon follow. The passing of time and a strong will and commitment is usually very effective in dealing with the 9 yoga obstacles.
