			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Namaste yoga represents a style of yoga based on the Hatha Vinyasa yoga practice. The meaning of the word namaste comes from the Indian greeting and it can be translated as follows: nama means bow, as it means I, and te means you; therefore namaste literally means I bow to you. It is a form used when greeting someone or when departing. As for Namaste yoga, the practice focuses on the importance of breathing; the breath is the guide and the<img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-89" title="kids yoga" src="http://www.calmingkidsyoga.org/CKBlogs/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/lotusflower.jpg" alt="lotusflower" width="218" height="227" /> body follows on the lines imposed by the breath. When greeting with namaste, the hands are placed together in front of the eyes while, bowing the head, and afterwards the hands drop down to the heart. The gesture implies a profound form of respect. Westerners perceive namaste in a different way than it is performed in India: westerners would say the word Namaste while making the gesture described above, while for Indians the gesture itself carries in it the word, making it unnecessary to pronounce the word while bowing.</p>
<p>Namaste yoga is often included in the practice of other yoga styles. The gesture namaste, the salute per se, is believed to enhance the divine love flow; when one closes the eyes and bows, he/she surrenders the mind to the divine in the heart. Ideally, Namaste yoga is a popular practice that opens and ends a yoga session, but it is usually done before completing the work routine, because it is considered that the mind and the body are more at peace then, not to mention the higher level of positive energy in the room.</p>
<p>The core of Namaste yoga is combined with the principles of Gautama Buddha, biggest Indian guru and the founder of Buddhism. Hence, a general consideration for all yoga styles is that the practice is more than a way to stay flexible or in good physical shape, as it is rather a way of life. Nevertheless, this doesn&#8217;t mean that one cannot benefit from Namaste yoga from the point of view of the physical fitness alone, it only means that if one gets interested in Namaste yoga, one will develop other preoccupations beside the immediate external reality. The yoga instructor offers Namaste as a token of respect and acknowledgment for the students, and in return invites them to connect with their lineage starting the energy flow from their hearts. It is rather difficult to properly perform various yoga positions, it requires practice until one is able to perform them with minimal effort.</p>

<p>Kids yoga is generally considered not an educational formula but rather a way of showing children ways to cope with stress. If in India children receive yoga classes at very small ages, but in the West, parents make the choice whether to train their kids or not. The very good part The great advantage of yoga for kids is that they develop self-awareness and get in touch with their inner part a lot sooner and better than an adult. Kids yoga teaches body and mind control as well as it helps develop lots of positive behavioral elements.  It can be shown that yoga training does effectively decrease bullying and increase anger management for 4th and 5th grade students with whom I have personally worked.  The rationale for this hypothesis was based on the first vow of raja yoga, ahimsa, that one vows to be non-violent to self and others.</p>
<p>Presently, some schools include yoga for kids as an additional curricular activities, but most of the time classes are independent. Just like dance and karate classes, yoga for kids can be easily squeezed in the child&#8217;s daily program. Therapists point out the fact that yoga has had very good results in the case of hyperactivity or deficit disorder cases. yoga for kids with such behavioral problems soothes the nerves and channels the moving impulses in a non-destructive manner. Self-confidence, balance and calm are the great outcomes to result from yoga-for-kids programs. The children learn yoga philosophy, practice yoga postures, learn breathing and concentration techniques, as well as, traditional conflict resolution strategies and dialogues.</p>
<p>Moreover, with yoga, kids learn how to conquer victories over mind and body and how to peacefully cooperate. The anatomical flexibility specific to young age makes postures a lot easier to perform; adults on the other hand need to work a lot more to achieve enough mobility to practice yoga. The more difficult part with yoga for kids is the relaxation technique, since many children find it difficult to keep their eyes closed, not to mention stand still while doing so. Therefore, visualization proves the best way of helping young and grown up yoga trainees get into the relaxed state of mind.</p>
<p>The posture names in yoga for kids classes are often very suggestive if we think of the fact that they are better learned when they mean something. Thus, postures have clever names like bridge, cobra, mountain, cat, dog and so on; the children will actually make their best to become any type of time traveler even if only for a short while. Moreover, trainers never push the practice of yoga for kids to the limit of pain, as the activity wouldn&#8217;t be that attractive with an extra pressure.</p>
<p>A comprehensive yoga program can greatly reduce violence and bullying, but, the long term lasting effects are still unclear but should be obvious at this point. The results of this intervention acknowledge yoga as an effective method for increasing anger management skills and decreasing physical outbursts of violence for upper elementary school age children during the time of implementation of a competently applied program.</p>

<p>Many people feel that there is a limited amount of abundance, wealth, or chances to succeed in life. Furthermore, there is a solid belief that if one person succeeds, another must fail.</p>
<p>This might be true, in some cases, such as in a small company or school, where opportunity is limited by management. However, the world is a big place, and there are opportunities created from ideas that help people, and no one gets hurt in the process.</p>
<p>Below are two examples of success that have not taken anything away from anyone:</p>
<p>Danny Thomas: With his promise, prayers, and vision, for St. Jude’s Hospital, he received the help of friends in the Arab-American community to build a fantastic charity. Some of us also believe he received divine help – I know, I do.</p>
<p>There is much more to this story, but what did this hospital or charity take away from anyone? Aren’t the children who recover from cancer living proof that this idea, and prosperity, is for the pure benefit of mankind? There is no one who is hurt by this, and Marlo Thomas has picked up where her father left off.</p>
<p>Yoga teachers: Many unfulfilled members of the workforce have left their jobs to teach the benefits of Yoga to the masses. They teach their students to enjoy life, deal with stress, breathe properly, improve their posture, become aware of their bodies, and many more benefits.</p>
<p>Most Yoga teachers believe that all of the great Yoga jobs are in health clubs, ashrams, and Yoga studios. Not so, in my book “How to Grow Your Own Successful Yoga Business,” I mention 16 ways to start up with little or no overhead.</p>
<p>Within the first chapter, there are Yoga teaching opportunities that currently exist with little, or no, competition. Yoga teachers who have taken this advice have become successful and prosperous.</p>
<p>Do these jobs take food away from anyone? When someone starts a business, do they take food away from another competitor? If you believe your competition is your problem, it will be. This is limited thinking, and you have to learn to think “outside the box,” in order to be successful in life.</p>
<p>Don’t waste time on bad thoughts. You can easily co-exist in harmony with them, become friends, and learn from them. There is enough opportunity for everyone. This should be your mantra: Observe your competition, learn from their mistakes, and when possible, copy their success.</p>
<p>This is why you need to take a mandatory vacation and get fresh ideas. This is why you should take a notebook with you. I still prefer the “old fashioned,” spiral bound notebook, with a pen in hand.</p>
<p>Everyone has a niche, make sure you cultivate yours, and develop your own identity, in life. Always remember, the sky is the limit, and you are only restrained by your own thoughts.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><img title="Yoga in Schools" src="http://calmingkidsyoga.org/Gifs/yogapose.gif" alt="yoga pose" width="200" align="left" /><strong><em>There is a growing concern</em></strong> throughout America regarding the increase in childhood stress, bullying, and violence.<span> </span>Living in Colorado, we are haunted by the incident at Columbine High School when two students felt the need to take revenge and take action in a violent manner leaving 15 dead and creating fear and sadness in the hearts of students and parents.<span> </span>This was the first wake up call that affluent, suburban schools were not always safe places.<span> </span>Violence and bullying continue to escalate according to statistics. Seventeen states across the United States report having instituted laws to reduce or eliminate bullying in schools..<span> </span>In Colorado, each school district is required to have a bully prevention policy and program.<span> </span>This paper will discuss a classically based yoga program incorporated within an upper elementary school system in Boulder, CO.<span> </span>The main hypothesis of this project was to evaluate whether yoga training would effectively decrease bullying and increase anger management for 4th and 5th grade students.<span> </span>The rationale for this hypothesis was based on the first vow of raja yoga, <em>ahimsa</em>, that one vows to be non-violent to self and others.<span> </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The yoga curriculum was presented for six, 45 minute sessions during the academic school day for 101, 4<sup>th</sup> and 5<sup>th</sup> grade students in 2004, repeated for 108 students in 2005 and reviewed again for<strong> </strong>105,<strong> </strong>students in 2006.<span> </span>The children learned yoga philosophy, practiced yoga postures, learned breathing and concentration techniques, as well as, traditional conflict resolution strategies and dialogues.<span> </span>Through the use of pre and post questionnaires the program was evaluated and statistics obtained.<span> </span>The program proved to be successful and effective.<span> </span>Boulder students’ self reported a decrease by 60% in their own bulling behavior and a 42% decrease in regard to being bullied by others at school<span> </span>A comprehensive yoga program can greatly reduce violence and bullying, but, the long term lasting effects are still unclear.<span> </span>The results of this intervention acknowledge yoga as an effective method for increasing anger management skills and decreasing physical outbursts of violence for upper elementary school age children during the time of implementation.  Click the Download link to read more&#8230;.<span> </span></p>

<p>So where do we start? Self-analysis will give many of your meditations purpose. The purpose of self-analysis is to objectively look inward, constructively, without judgment or regret, and to find solutions to ongoing problems.</p>
<p>There is an instinctive fear to take start this task. Hence, the reason why there are professionals for psychological analysis. This leaves you with a decision from the onset: Whether to do it yourself, or with the help of professional guidance.</p>
<p>If you elect to go it alone, that’s fine, but be prepared to encounter more issues than you originally thought possible. At one time, we have all managed to disconnect with our inner being. This creates a fear of looking inward because of our reaction to what we might see and learn.</p>
<p>Don’t waste time with evaluations, comparisons, or judgments. These concepts only support our feelings of inferiority, and for most of us, those feelings should be purged from our inner being.</p>
<p>You will need solitary time, when you can reflect on dilemmas, and take notes. You can do this in your car, but you will need a recording device. You will also want to make sure anything embarrassing is either encoded or hidden. Records are great, but they can be incriminating, so take the time to protect yourself from a potential invasion of your privacy.</p>
<p>In order to meditate, you will need to set aside time, in the early morning, or at night. There is less activity in most households, at this time, and less of a chance for you to be diverted or interrupted.</p>
<p>The quest for self-improvement is the purpose of this kind of meditation. You need to clear your mind and focus on one thought only. This should not be turned into a form of grieving, so you must look at it objectively and try to remove your personal feelings.</p>
<p>Your mind will naturally “stray,” a bit, unless you have been practicing meditation for some time. The straying aspect is actually good in this instance, because it allows you to come back with a slightly different perspective each time.</p>
<p>The end result of all this work, will be discovering a multitude of self-improvement solutions and improve the quality of your life.</p>

<p>These days it is very alarming how many children are suffering from psychosomatic disorders such as sleeping disturbances, eating disturbances, headaches and very often wrong posture like sagging shoulders as well as stress related to pressure, competition and aggression in school. Children today are under a lot of stress and strain. Grounding, pressure to compete with other children, endless after-school activities, over-working &#8211; it all adds up. And just like their parents, kids today are turning to Yoga to help them relax.</p>
<p>Children&#8217;s yoga can be great fun as well as being tremendously advantageous to a child&#8217;s health and well-being. Stretching will help children become more flexible as well as strengthening their arms and legs. Doing yoga helps children exercise, play, connect more deeply with the inner self, and build up an intimate relationship with the natural world that surrounds them. Yoga brings that stunning inner light that all children have to the surface. Yoga will also improve a child&#8217;s breathing and circulation. Regular yoga practice for children will make them calmer, more relaxed and much happier.</p>
<p>Another approach is to create a guided imagination by telling them a story with a calming theme of some sort. As you know children have the most active mind&#8217;s eye, they imagine all sorts of things. So when doing children&#8217;s yoga let them think that they are walking on a green pasture.</p>
<p><img title="Focus and Relaxation" src="../../yogapose.jpg" alt="Focus and Relaxation" align="right" />You can even let them think that they are butterflies in a beautiful garden. The main idea in here is to instill a sense of peace and feeling of oneness with nature. Children&#8217;s yoga should be taught more often and in different places. It is important to teach children the meaning of union of mind, body and spirit.</p>
